'Flow State' continues the Unscripted Language collection.

This piece built differently to others in the series. Rather than creating space by removing or covering, I kept following what was already happening, allowing layers, marks and colour to accumulate until the surface felt complete. There are moments hidden beneath others, traces left visible, and areas where one decision led naturally into the next.

For me, this work reflects the feeling of being completely inside the process. Not overthinking, not editing too early, not trying to control the outcome. Just responding. The painting arrived through momentum and trust with one mark giving permission for the next.

‘Unscripted Language’ is a body of work built on instinct and restraint. No fixed plan, no forced marks — just layers that accumulate and dissolve, colour that speaks quietly. Each piece is a study in letting things emerge rather than making them happen.
