Flow State continues the Unscripted Language collection.
This piece developed differently from others in the series. Rather than creating space by removing or covering, I kept following what was already happening, allowing layers, marks and colour to accumulate across the surface. Some moments remain visible while others sit beneath them, with each decision leading naturally into the next.
The work came through momentum rather than a predetermined composition. I resisted editing too early or controlling where it was heading, allowing the painting to build through one response after another.
Unscripted Language is a body of work built on instinct and restraint. No fixed plan, no forced marks, just layers that accumulate and dissolve, and colour that speaks quietly. Each piece is a study in letting things emerge rather than making them happen.
