Blooming In Haze marks the beginning of the transition that would become A Quiet Unfolding.
This work sits between two periods in my painting practice. The heavier, more opaque marks of my earlier work are still present, but areas of the canvas began to soften and open. Layers were washed back and rebuilt, allowing more of what came before to remain visible.
It was through this painting that I began moving towards thinner applications of paint, greater transparency and more space between marks — ideas I continued to explore through A Quiet Unfolding and which would later become central to Unscripted Language.
