This work is built through layered, gestural marks, with areas of pale blue, violet and green moving across the surface. Softer passages sit alongside more concentrated areas of colour, creating movement without a fixed focal point.

The painting developed through repeated layering and revision, allowing earlier marks to remain visible beneath later decisions. There is a looseness to the composition that became increasingly important in the work I made during this period.

Whispers of Tomorrow is a body of work where instinctive mark-making became increasingly important in my practice. Built through layered gestures, changing colour and repeated revision, the paintings hold visible traces of the decisions that shaped them.
