Unfolding In Motion is part of the A Quiet Unfolding collection, which marks a shift in my painting practice. The heavier, more opaque layers of earlier works began to give way to softer applications of paint, allowing more of what came before to remain visible.
Across these works I began exploring thinner layers, transparency and the relationship between marks rather than covering and rebuilding the surface completely. Colour became quieter in places and the paintings began to hold more space.
This small body of work became an important transition in my practice, opening the way for the translucent, accumulated layers that would later become central to Unscripted Language.
