This work is built through layers of colour, shifting scale and repeated marks. Areas of dense, energetic movement sit against softer passages, with earlier decisions remaining visible beneath and between later layers.
There is a stronger physicality to this piece than in my more recent work. Marks overlap, interrupt and move across the canvas, creating changes in pace and visual weight rather than following a predetermined composition.
Whispers of Tomorrow is a body of work where instinctive mark-making became increasingly important in my practice. Built through layered gestures, changing colour and repeated revision, the paintings hold visible traces of the decisions that shaped them.
